Brock and Seth switch hats.
Brock is smiling despite the fact that he can not breathe.

Brock is saying his new favorite word: "toot." He's all boy!

A few weekends ago, we went to Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville. One of my friends called it a "drive-thru zoo." We took a wagon ride through a huge field that housed hundreds of animals. The animals would come right up to the wagon and eat the food we gave them. Here we are feeding a camel.
Yes, this giraffe is really just inches from Adam and Brock!

Adam and Brock loved feeding the water buffalo, but they had to watch out for the really long wet tongue!

Brock and his new found friend.

This is sadly the first family picture we've had taken since Brock came to the hospital to meet Macie. Too bad the kids are not looking at the camera.

Having a little boy is quite exciting! Here is Macie just after Brock dumped a bag of popcorn over her head. I'm sorry I did not get a picture after he poured a cup of ice water on me and Macie...and ate a tube a toothpaste...and made his nose bleed because he stuck his finger too far up it...

Yes, Brock, most firemen carry around blankies and suck their fingers.

We're still working on table manners.

"Yahoo! Mommy put a bow in my hair! Don't I look pretty?"

Brock gives Macie a pep-talk during "tummy-time"

"I'm sorry! Am I in your personal space?"

Brock found something more exciting to watch at the football games.

Our parents swore by Johnny-Jump-Ups. That is how one survived parenthood in the 70's and 80's. Macie thought is was fun, but I have two problems with it: 1) it is difficult to get her in and out 2) Brock thinks that Macie is in a playground swing and pushes her accordingly.

Macie had a little fever, so we tried to give her some Tylenol. I'm thinking next time we'll just add it to her bottle.

The many faces of Macie Cate's first taste of rice cereal:

That wasn't that bad!

touchdown!
we have two cribs, a pack-n-play, and a bassinet and you make me sleep on the floor!

Mom, you're smiling wrong! You have open your mouth like this...see?!

I hope I'm getting paid by the hour!

Yahoo! It's time to eat!

This chair seems so much smaller when Daddy is sitting in it. (here is Macie's secret SOS signal - it's all in her eyes)

hello, I'm down here, guys...

why does everone want to kiss me? I must be really cute!

mom, make sure you get under all my rolls this time.

feet are good for so many things - I have not figured out what to do with my hands though! I think this camera angle might make my legs look fat.

Here again is macie's secret SOS signal

I'm busy now recording my new song with my new microphone.

Look at my new toy! I love to suck on all the different spongy parts!

Can anyone guess why this picture is very exciting????

Brock's birthday party: In the words of Brock:

Presents! Maybe if I'm really cute, nobody will notice that I just stuck my finger in the birthday cake...

Why is everyone singing? Why does Daddy have this fire so close to my head? Being two is really scary...

Yum! BBQ! THis will give me plenty of energy to hop in the moonbounce!

Dad, pictures are so over-rated! Let's hop!

Can someone help me up here? I'm only two, ya know!

Just because I'm two does NOT mean that I'm going to give up sucking on my fingers! Hey! Check out my new ride!

Daddy's home!!

Hummm...I wonder if they make that in my size?

OK - I'll bite too! Danielle "tagged" me to write 8 random things about myself. Here it goes!
1) I went to Northside Christian all the way through school. (Northside is a big Baptist church that has a school. ) Anyway, late one night during my Senior year, my sister, one of our friends and I went swimming in the baptistery.
2) I accidentally gave my friend Rose an overdose of Dramamine while on a cruise in Hawaii. We both were pretty stoned (not able to finish sentences, walking into walls, not able to focus on things more then a few feet away, etc). Our husbands had take us back to our rooms and put us to bed.
3) On the way home from college, I missed the exit for I-77 and drove 90 miles out of my way.
4) Chauncey Bush, the founder of Bush Beans, is my Great Uncle. Jay Bush, the guy in the commercials, is my 2nd cousin. (Note: I have never met Jay nor his dog Duke and I am not an heir to the Bush fortune.)
5) For our 7th birthday, my parents bought ONE pair of rollerskates for Danielle and me to share. This (for obvious reasons) is NOT a good thing to share! I remember skating around the kitchen wearing the right skate and Danielle wearing the left.
6) Adam took me to play putt-putt on our first date. I was so bad that he started missing on purpose so I would not feel like a loser.
7) My younger sister, Lydia, was a model and had her picture in a teen magazine (I don't remember which one it was - "Seventeen" maybe???)
8) In the middle of a heated discussion with my 4 year old sister, I came up with the mother-of-all cut-downs and said, "You're ugly!" Mom had to explain that that was not the most logical insult to call my identical twin sister.
OK now I'll tag Rose because she is the only one of my friends with a blog.

Brock is ALL BOY! Here he is at the beach with the youth group. He loves to "hop" into the pool.
Macie was a little more passive around the pool...check out the rolls on her arms!

I think it's all the chub that helps Macie sit in the Bumbo. I put her on the counter a lot - out of the reach of her big brother!

Last week Adam, Macie and I went to the mountains with the football team. Brock went to Mamaw's. What an easy week for me! This is how Macie traveled most of the week. (My lower back is killing me beacuse of it! ) Here Macie is commenting to Adam that she would not have sent a blitz on that play.

Yeah, Dad, no blitz on that one!

What is Adam thinking??? It's the most wonderful time of the year!
